As the title, I have a plan in my mind. Since all of us are in different part of the country and also all around the world, it would be great if each and every of us could take a photo of u and the uni/college u are in now(preferably with the name of it). If there is more than one of u at the same uni/college, why not take the photo together! Show off our class bond even though we had left chong hwa for 3 years! So guys, move it move it!!! (ps:We can also make a video of it!) =)

To those who drive:

1. If u are taking metrobus from mutiara, be careful as there are two Templer Parks. We are not going to the national service camp (i.e the fake Templer), so you should stop at the bus stop right opposite to the real Templer park. It's easy to recognize it, when you see Shell petrol station, prepare to press the bell!!!

2. If you are driving from mutiara, Templer Park is opposite your way. As for safety reason, you are advisable to follow the path of the ''map'' above. It's not a long way to Tesco where you can make a legal u-turn and it's much safer. Don't attempt to do a u-turn before Tesco, it's too dangerous even for a Ferrari......

3. For some reasons, they are collecting entrance fee nowadays. To save my money, I'll wait at a bus stop outside and anyone reach there just wake me up. I'll tell you where to find a nice place. You won't want your car with some monkeys on it.

oh, the entrance fees are:
RM1 each person, RM2 for each car and RM3 if you look like a foreigner......

I went to Templer Park this morning and had a good geographical insight as well as experience.

The park has 7 levels from ground to the top. The waterfalls are situated at 5,6 and 7. It took 15 minutes for me to reach level 5 and another 15 minutes to level 7. The place suitable for having picnic is at level 5. Level 5 is a hot spot so many people are going there. We have to arrive there as earlier as possible to be the boss there!!!
Be sure to arrive there in time!!

There are some important things to remember.

It is advisable to bring bagpacks instead of handbags or other fancy bags. During the hiking, leave at least one of your hands empty so that you can grab something if something happens.

If you bring fruits, store them in a container or in non-transparent plastic bags. I don't know how the monkeys will react when they see your fruits. Besides that, no bananas! All monkeys have noses and no help provided when a gorilla suddenly appear in front of you.

Bring cameras!

For those who will be attending for class trip,

Very kindly be informed that our class trip will be held starting from 1 December 2008 onwards till 4 December 2008. And the assembly time is at 6.15a.m. at Kong Cheng Hall in our school. The followings are to be prepared for the trip:

1.Slippers
2.Suitable attire(t-shirt,swimming gear,etc.) and short pants for seaside and beach-related activities
3.Eye googles for swimming,snorkelling, hats or caps and sun-tan oil or lotion if needed
4.Sufficient snacks or titbits (as many as possible haha)
5.Any VCD or CD for entertainment if needed

It's the last subject. There is no rules, no reading, no revise on this subject... simply testing your knowledge. That's why you have to know that when dealing with this subject, you must know the techniquessss....and just because of an A1.

It has a total marks of 80 (50+30). For last year, you get an "A" when your mark is higher than 56. Most students couldn't get an "A" although they do well in English, and the low results are mainly caused by essay section, according to a chief examiner. She said to me, "Do you know what EST means?? It stands for English for Science and Technology. know? SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY!!!"

Ok, back to the topic. There are some techniques in writing EST essay. But first, you must know how they mark. There are 4 aspects in marking the essays :
P (points given in the question)
E (Elaboration)
A (Advanced knowledge of science)
C (Conclusion)
Each aspects are marked and given a grade from "A" to "E". Then, the examiner will give an overall grade according to four of those aspects. After that, the numerical marks will be given based on the overall grade, e.g. if I get A,D,E,C for 4 aspects, my overall grade is "D+", and I deserve maximum 9 marks out of 30.

1. Classify the points to advantages and disadvantages.
2. Write ALL the points and elaborate. (Aspect P, E)
3. When writing, make sure you put at least 2 points which you think are ADVANCE about scientific knowledge in some points or parts of the essay (Aspect A). Examples below.
4. provide relevant points/suggestions if the question asked.
5. Don't care about the length of your essay, the more the better, but be careful with the time.
6. No word count, no marks given.
7. Always write conclusion (Aspect C)
8. No marks for format and language, but don't take risk. If u write a speech instead of an article, god bless u. Good language means good explanation, good explanation means good marks. =)

Most students failed to get high marks for the aspect "Advance knowledge of science", because they don't know it is included in the markings. Remember, EST is for SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY. Here's an example for the same question:

Ans 1 : ...Using natural gases as fuels are widely known in developing countries. It is an alternative to petrol-based vehicles. Natural gases are compressed with high pressure to liquid form as fuel used by vehicles. It is mainly composed of methane. Due to its composition, it can burn completely and produce less amount of carbon dioxide which is insufficient to pollute the air. This means that using natural gas vehicles does not emit pollutants or waste gases to the surroundings so our health won't be affected......
Good elaboration, if the examiner didn't read the question. It has almost the same points given in the question. Overall simple elaboration without showing any advance scientific fact e.g who doesn't know that less amount of CO2 won't pollute the air?

Ans 2 : ...Natural gas was formed million years ago when the dead remains of animals and plants were compressed by the weathering and natural environment. It then become trapped by layers and layers of soil and rocks deep beneath the Earth's crust. The effect of heat formed petroleum which is normally separated in a refinery to produce fuel for cooking, vehicles and making tar for the roads. It also produce natural gas from the gas which floats on top of the petroleum, since it is much more lighter. Oil rigs are often set up in oceans and sea to remove this layer of natural gas....

...Some vehicles also uses ethane (C2H6), propane (C3H8), and butane (C4H10) to power it as an alternative to methane. These gases are commonly produced in the environment and chemical laboratories making it easily available....
This extract is taken from the the essay of one student of the best EST results in the chief examiner's school. The extract up there shows that he/she knows much about science and able to show his/her knowledge of science. He/she wrote 2 points about advance knowledge in science (how natural gas formed and process, examples of other natural gas) and deserves a 20 mark for the essay section.

Nothing more, at least 2 points of advance science knowledge. Anything you can write from bio, chemistry and physic textbook gives u higher marks.

9/8/08 星期六，其他人去看男女排球赛时，我却去观赏戏剧比赛，并录下每队的戏剧。这次比赛举办得还算不错，每队各有千秋，旗鼓相当。得到的结论是，原来做 cameraman 一点都不容易，要很专业才行。即使拿到手快要酸了，却还是录得有点东歪西倒，大家可要见谅了。而且有些画面灯光很暗或者是不能用flash的缘故，可能看不清演员。所以，请不要怪我，我已尽力了！！！

两位可爱的司仪。。。

小广告：不要用手提电话、不要大声说话、不要到处走动、不要用闪光灯、不要饮食。。。这些“小广告”真是让我笑爆肚子了。

Details about Moral Project

Please note the following when working on your PM project.

1.) Make sure you copy all the pages on A4 paper, make it nice and decorate it as creative and artistic as possible. You may use decorative A4 papers.

2.) All pages are to be hand-copied except for the cover for the project which can be typed and printed from the computer. For the precise format of the cover, please refer to the piece of Lampiran 1 given to us by teacher before the holidays.

3.) Formats for last year's PM project and this year's might be different. For example, in the esei sections. Ignore all the differences and just copy them onto A4 paper. Please remember to write "Tugasan Harian X" on the upper-left corner of every Tugasan Harian. Beneath that, copy the question of the soalan esei. You can then proceed copying the whole esei under these two headings.

4.) The order of the whole project is to be according to what that is written in the piece of Lampiran 2 which is the Kandungan page that teacher gave us before the holidays. Please note about the exception that the 4 pages of 8 photos are to be arranged at the Lampiran section after the LAMPIRAN title paper, of which each in between, are the papers of the titles related to the activities taken in the photos.

5.) Remember to DRAW and COLOUR the titles for each section on an A4 paper as creatively as possible. Titles to be drawn and coloured include: TUGASAN HARIAN, LAMPIRAN, PERKEMBANGAN DIRI, KEKELUARGAAN, ALAM SEKITAR 1, ALAM SEKITAR 2, and SURAT AKUAN. You can choose to have the first letter of each title to be a capital letter, or have them all in capitals.

6.) Please remember that all the titles of the Tugasan Harian in the Kandungan page are to be the same as of those written on your Tugasan Harian A4 papers. E.g. Copy the title of the esei of the "......warga tua" in your kandungan the same as the one in your A4 paper. As for the Tugasan Harian 6, please copy the right title as the one that you took in your photos, whether it is "...mencuci kereta" or "...makan malam".

7.) The title for Tugasan Harian 4 is "KEPENTINGAN MENGHORMATI WARGA TUA". Please remember to copy this title as stated above when you copy the whole esei onto A4 paper. The same goes for the title in the Kandungan page.

8.) As for the Laporan Kerja Amal 1 & 2, you can COPY EVERYTHING AS IT IS on the 2 pieces of papers given to us by our teacher, REGARDLESS of whether the activities that you did in the photos are totally same as what is written on the 2 pieces of paper given to us by our teacher. But as for the two Laporan Kerja Amal papers which we have completed during Form 4 last year, please REMEMBER to add in some NILAIs at the "Kesan yang diperoleh". If you're not sure HOW, you can refer to THAT section of the Laporan Kerja Amal 1 & 2 papers, which are the ones stated just above.

9.) Copy the Kandungan page as it is in the Lampiran 2 that teacher photocopied for us. DO NOT INCLUDE PAGE NUMBERS. And as for the COVER for the whole project, which is the FRONT PAGE, the photo required should just be of passport-size, and NOT necessarily taken with your SCHOOL UNIFORM. Remember to SMILE!!

10.) Remember to send your pieces of papers to the photocopy shop for BINDING. Before that, make sure that you have all the pages in the correct order as written in the Kandungan page, including all the pages of your self-designed and self-coloured titles. The project must be complete and has to be ready to be handed in on the first day of school which is on the 9th of June, Monday.

Today, the chapatty rolling competition was held at the back section of the canteen. The whole canteen was filled full with students and the smell of flour was in the air. Two (2) teams have represented our class to compete in the competition. I took "a few" shots of them in action and also a video at the end. I went off early at 4pm, therefore I didn't manage to take anymore pictures about what's happening after that. Anyways, enjoy! And oh yea, Jia Nee's team scored a 10 out of 10 marks~ I think so. ^^ Congratulations to them~ 5sZhong boleh!!! XD

This piece is called "I Should Have Known", and it took 10~15 hours to complete.
Main instruments are piano and strings, and I had a little bit of fun improvising
16 bars in the middle of the piece. Spot it.
